This is a beautiful wine with black truffle, dark berries, chocolate and violets. Medium-to full-bodied, layered and enticing. The length and focus is excellent for this vintage.

Elegant, lifted nose with appreciable complexity after the fruit-a-thon of the 2003. Hasn’t yet reached the maturity of which it seems capable, with astringent, chalky tannin and heavy-set intensity on the mid palate. (RH)

Very warm, rich and iron-filings scented. Rich, sweet yet chewy. Lots of tannin and slight dryness on the end. (JR)
