Score 89+/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Nov 2004

(73% pinot noir and 27% chardonnay) Pale pink-orange color. Wild nose began with a sherry note but showed aromas of red fruits, buttered popcorn, toasted hazelnut and almond with aeration, along with a suggestion of barrel char. Ripe, rich and creamy; full-bodied but with a spine of acidity running through the wine. Finishes with very good length and grip. More a Bollinger Champagne than a rose.
