2020 Halos de Jupiter - Chateauneuf-du-Pape Adastree

The 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape Adrastée brings more fruit and texture, yet it still remains perfectly balanced. Tons of ripe red and black fruits, flowery incense, pepper, garrigue, and spice give way to a full-bodied, pleasure-bent, sexy 2020 offering silky tannins, a great mid-palate, and the balance and class to drink well for 15 years or more. This cuvée comes primarily (all?) from the La Crau lieu-dit and is 100% Grenache. With the unfortunate passing of Philippe Cambie in 2021, the winemaking at Halos de Jupiter is handled by the talented Michel Gassier. I doubt anyone knew Philippe or his winemaking style better than Michel, so I expect there to be little change in the style – or quality – of these wines going forward.
