The NV Little Wine # 14 is a 24-barrel blend of the following vintages: 2024 is 37% of the blend; 2023 is 32%; 2022 is 12%; 2021 is 8%; 2020 is 4%; 2019 is 3%; 2018 is 1%; 2017 is 2%; and 2016 and 2015 together equate to 1%. The wine, as ever, is elegant and tightly coiled. It has an inherent softness to it, partly from the process of aging and combining the component parts and partly from the older vintages just being softer and more weathered from time. It coalesces with great harmony and restraint, and I find it completely pleasurable. The wine is both floral and mineral, as all of the Sami-Odi wines have the propensity to be, and this sits so well within the confines of the wine. It's a lovely thing. There are notes of graphite, licorice, cracked fennel seed, dark chocolate, blackberry and mulberry, too. 14.1% alcohol, sealed under natural cork.

A blend of vintages from 2015 to 2023. The core of the blend is 2019 to 2023; the older components actually make up very little of the total: 2023 (27%), 2022 (36%), 2021 (19%), 2020 (7%), 2019 (6%), 2018 (2%), 2017-2015 (1% each). The NV Little Wine #13 is elegant and spicy and layered. It has all the black and purple fruits, asphalt and crushed rocks, a sprinkling of cocoa and dark chocolate, mulberry even and garden roses. The wine is both muscular and svelte, and this is the impact of multiple vintages, I suppose. It has pert fruit alongside elongated tannins, with frisky tannins alongside mellowed fruit. It's a wonderful wine of chiaroscuro: light and dappled characters. It's a distinct wine. This Little Wine feels complete. 13.9% alcohol, sealed under cork and wax.

Lots of blackberry and black cherry fruit here, with iodine, bay leaves and some graphite. Iron, too. Firm and wonderfully fresh, with a medium to full body and a muscular tannin frame. Length and density here. Blend of 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016 and 2015. Bottled October 2021.

Fraser McKinley's NV Little Wine #9 is a blend of five vintages: 42% 2019, 37% 2018, 13% 2017 and 4% each 2016 and 2015. It's a bit marked by oak, with scents of vanilla joining hints of cracked pepper, fresh blueberries and asphalt on the nose. The medium to full-bodied palate is creamy and supple yet fresh and vibrant, with the expansive texture turning silky and softly dusty on the finish. This could easily age for up to a decade.
