Score 94/100 · Drink 2025-2036, Eric Guido, Vinous, May 2023

The 2020 Lapsus smolders up from the glass with a black currant, spiced citrus, grilled herb and scorched earth bouquet. This flows across the palate like pure silk, more lifted and finessed than expected, yet complex throughout. It casts crisp red and black fruits across a core of salty minerality. Fine-grained tannins resonate through the finish, gently tugging at the palate with a youthful grip, yet without slowing the 2020s momentum. This harmonious Lapsus will pay dividends in the cellar. It’s a blend of 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Graciano, 23% Mourvèdre and 20% Syrah.

The 2020 Lapsus is a blend of 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Graciano, 23% Mourvèdre and 20% Syrah. Deep ruby-purple, the nose offers intense cranberry jelly, pomegranate, lavender and orange peel tones with wafts of forest floor. The medium-bodied palate is chalky, fresh and easy to drink, its berry fruits complemented by floral tones on the long finish.

A juicy, bright cabernet sauvignon with a medium to full body rounding off its smooth, silky tannins. Lovely spiciness jumps out from the redcurrants and is followed by a creamy edge in finish. Really bright. 32% cabernet sauvignon, 25% graciano, 23% mourvèdre and 20% syrah. Drink or hold.

The 2020 Lapsus is based on 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Graciano, 23% Mourvèdre, and the rest Syrah, aged in 20% new oak. Lots of ripe black fruits, leather, tobacco, charcoal, and spicy notes emerge from this solid 2020, a richer, medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated red that has some gritty, detracting tannins. While a step down from the 2019s, these latest 2020s from brothers Arnaud and Guillaume Fabre are solid wines.
