Tasting notes
This has added a bit more maturity in the two years that have passed since my last review as the expressive, complex and classy nose is now almost completely mature with the same intensely yeasty character that has a touch of baked apple and spice to it that continues onto the delicious, refined and still rather masculine flavors that continue to pack plenty of power, punch and finishing character on the impressively long backend...In a word, wonderful.

The house's 1995 Brut Cuvée des Enchanteleurs reveals white truffles, spices, flowers, honey and dried pears in a medium-bodied style. The wine offers compelling inner perfume in its fruit and excellent overall harmony. The Cuvée des Enchanteleurs is 55% Chardonnay and 45% Pinot Noir.

Henriot is a medium-sized, family-run estate located in Reims. Based on the wines I tasted it looks like quality is on the rise. Importer: Henriot Inc., New York, NY; tel. (212) 605-6706
Deep yellow. Sweet rather bruised cooking apple nose. Not the freshest fruit. Too astringent and coarse for top drawer status. (JR)
