Tasting notes
The best barrels from the growers, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Piece de Resistance checks in as 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that was brought up in new oak. Massive notes of crème de cassis, black cherries, new saddle leather, and lavender all flow to a full-bodied, incredibly layered, uber-sexy beauty that just knocks it out of the park.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Piece de Resistance is a gorgeous, vivid wine. Graphite, lavender, menthol, licorice and dark spices add myriad shades of nuance to a core of inky blue/blackish fruit. A powerful, virile wine, the 2016 captures all the best qualities of the year in its brooding, potent personality. In 2016 most of the fruit came of Stagecoach.

A barrel selection wine bottled in late May 2018 and composed of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Piece de Resistance is deep garnet-purple colored and opens with a core of cassis, ripe plums, blackberry preserves and chargrill with touches of wild sage, forest floor, cedar chest, fertile loam and tapenade. The palate is full-bodied and packed with black fruit and savory layers, with a ripe, firm, grainy backbone and a very long, mineral-tinged finish. 100 cases produced.
