Tasting notes
The 2015 Syrah 393 spent 21 months in 40% new French oak and underwent spontaneous fermentation. The nose begins with complex black fruits and smoky and savory tones with a touch of black spice. On the palate, the full-bodied wine has a note of black pepper that expresses itself over the mid-palate and meshes well with the cassis, black cherry and blackberry, ending with a long finish. 2,532 bottles were bottled by hand, unfiltered and unfined.

The 2015 Syrah "393" includes 10% whole bunch fruit and was matured for 12 months in 40% new fine-grain French oak with a light toasting, and then transferred into used oak for another nine months. It has a very attractive bouquet of blackberry, blueberry, crushed violet and vanilla scents that are pure and opulent. The palate is medium-bodied with supple ripe tannin, and quite harmonious and smooth, delivering good density while not compromising on fruit. This is still quite backward and deserves another couple of years in bottle, but there is good potential here.
