Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Apr 2015
The Clos Landaris is a blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and odd varieties such as Lancin, Castets, Marselan and Saint-Macaire cropped at 10 hectoliter per hectare. Having just completed its malolactic fermentation, the nose was difficult to pin down. The palate is chewy on the entry, the 100% new oak very dominant and almost pulverizing the finish. I will re-evaluate this once in bottle because apparently the fruit does usually eat up the wood. For its own sake, I sincerely hope so.
