The 2020 Chardonnay Sweetwater Vineyard is powerful and hedonistic. Scented of Meyer lemon, meringue, toasted almonds and chamomile, it takes some time to unfold its finer nuances as it spends time in the glass. The palate surprises with its satiny texture and ripe, concentrated citrus fruits. It's energized by tangy acidity and has a long, textural finish. It's a powerful Chardonnay with youthful, hedonistic appeal and food-friendly textural grip.

The 2020 Chardonnay Sweetwater is a light-bodied, floral Chardonnay to drink over the next few years. There's not a ton of depth, but all the elements are nicely balanced. Time in the glass brings out lovely orchard fruit character, but the extent and creaminess of the best years is missing, which is not surprising given the challenges of the vintage.
