The 2008 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva Bossona wafts up with a mature bouquet, as earth tones, dried flowers and minty black currants fill the senses. Soft, soothing and round, this is built on purity, flowing across the palate with a delicate wave of mineral-tinged strawberry fruit. A salty tinge, sous bois note and a gentle grip of residual tannins resonate. I don't believe the 2008 will ever fully integrate, but there's no harm in enjoying it now.

The 2008 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva Bossona is one of the best wines I have ever tasted from Dei. A rich, powerful, utterly explosive wine, the 2008 emerges with black cherries, tar, smoke, graphite and scorched earth. The style is jammy, powerful and built on intensity, but at the same time beautifully balanced.
Very dark and youthful ruby. Youthful on the palate too with dark concentrated fruit. Lots of coating tannin. Very long even multilayered, if a touch warm. (WS)
