Score 89/100 · David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate, Jun 2012

The sole Chotard cuvee to come my way these past two years represents his basic bottling, a 2010 Sancerre that - while not terribly ripe in flavor, featuring gooseberry and fennel garnished with mint and oregano - manages to be at once surprisingly lushly textured and eminently refreshing, its finish tartly invigorating, palate-cleansing, and practically glowing in herbal persistence. Enjoy it over the next couple of years. Accomplished musician, as well as vigneron, Daniel Chotard lives on the edge of Sancerre but farms sites in Crezancy, at the western edge of the appellation and benefitting from flint as well as classic Kimmeridgian soils.
