Tasting notes
Lastly, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Los Potreros (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) comes from a mix of Star Lane and Grimm's Bluff fruit and spent 22 months in 40% new French oak. Classic Cabernet notes of crème de cassis, black currants, tobacco leaf, cedarwood, and chocolate flow to a medium-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon that has ripe, present tannins, no hard edges, good acidity, and a great finish. It’s another terrific Cabernet from Santa Barbara County that’s going to evolve for 15+ years.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Los Potreros offers a compelling mix of fruit richness and aromatics. Red and purplish fruit, dried flowers, mint, sage and lavender are some of the many notes that open up in the glass. I especially like the energy and vibrancy here. Los Potreros is a blend of fruit from Grimm's Bluff and Star Lane.
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Los Potreros has a medium to deep ruby color and herbaceous aromas to begin—blackcurrant bud and green bell pepper—plus notes of bitter chocolate over a core of blackcurrant, black cherries and black plums. Medium to full-bodied, it offers dense, dark fruits in the mouth with herbal accents, fine, ripe, grainy tannins and good freshness, finishing long.
