A new bottling for Turley, the 2016 Casa Nuestra hails from a site in northeast Saint Helena planted with an eclectic mix of red and white varieties. Offering up complex aromas of cherries, black raspberries, plums, licorice and subtle petroleum jelly, it's a full-bodied, ample wine that's quite deep and firmly structured in profile, though its tannins are largely concealed by fleshy, dramatic fruit.

A new wine in this range, the 2016 Red Wine Casa Nuestra emerges from a head-trained, dry-farmed site in St. Helena planted in 1991 mostly with Zinfandel and Petite Sirah, plus dollops of Napa Gamay, Refosco, Trousseau Noir and Chenin Blanc. The punchy, bright, red-toned fruit and exotic aromatics make for another compelling wine from Turley. What else is new? Even with all of its fruit intensity, the 2016 has quite a bit of tannic heft from the pure gravel soils in this site to balance things out. The blend is 50% Zinfandel, 30% Petite Sirah and the rest Napa Gamay, Refosco, Trousseau Noir and Chenin Blanc.
