Fresh pear, white peach and lime greet the nose – garlanded in muskily perfumed narcissus – then inform a brightly juicy but expansive, subtly oily, and pithily chewy palate. Very intense on the nose, the 2015 Loibner Riesling Ried Loibenberg Smaragd indicates a ripe and concentrated bouquet of superripe fruit aromas. Smooth and creamy on the palate, this is a powerful and densely woven Smaragd with grip and fine tannins, but lacks a bit of swing.
