Score 83/100 · Drink 1983, Robert Parker, Jan 1998
The 1971 has been fully mature for over a decade. It is medium ruby with some amber/orange color at the edges, possessing a light-intensity, fragrant bouquet suggestive of berry fruit and oak. On the palate, the flavors reveal adequate fruit and concentration, but the acidity is a bit sharp in the finish. Drink up. Anticipated maturity: Now-probably in serious decline. Last tasted, 10/83.
