Tasting notes
The 2018 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Charmois is more exuberant and fruit driven, delivering an appealing bouquet of orange oil, white flowers and peach, followed by a medium to full-bodied, textural palate that's pure and fleshy, underpinned by succulent acids and concluding with a nicely defined finish.

Quite intense and concentrated on the nose. This is a pretty big wine! Definitely seems more marked by the year than the village. Fairly rich and accessible. But then it finishes by pulling the drawstring on the purse. There’s a certain sweetness here that should charm many a drinker. Lots to chew on. (JR)
The 2018 Saint-Aubin Les Charmois 1er Cru has a taut, stony bouquet with light orange blossom and flinty scents. The palate is very saline on the entry, capturing the spiciness of this vineyard with stem ginger springing up on the finish. It just misses a little persistency but otherwise, fine.
Tank sample. Very slight hint of struck-match reduction blends well on the nose with the clean, pure citrus. Gorgeous mix of fruit sweetness and fresh zestiness with that slight reductive character adding another dimension. (JH)
