Tasting notes
Deep red-ruby. Intriguing aromas of botanical herbs, dried flowers, mint and shiso leaf, with some intrusive nutty oak; this reminded me of a old-style Italian red. Then suave in texture, with good richness but also a firm edge to the flavors of cassis, kirsch and nutty oak.Falls down a bit on the finish, where the dusty tannins turn a bit dry. Lingering notes of licorice and dark chocolate. This seemed fresher and fuller in barrel last winter.

Aromas of blackcurrant, maraschino cherry and toasty oak lifted by a floral topnote. Sweet and fat in the mouth, with red berry flavors complemented but not overwhelmed by notes of oaky torrefaction. Finishes persistent and aromatic, with very sweet, gentle tannins.
The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a very pretty, exotic wine. Hints of cinnamon, leather, orange peel and dried red cherry are all nicely lifted. Today, the 2004 comes across as quite delicate, yet it possesses lovely understated depth and persistence. This is in a gorgeous spot for drinking now.
