Tasting notes
The 2021 Pinot Noir KR Ranch has alluring aromas of cranberries, mossy bark, dark earth and fernet. The medium-bodied palate is luxuriously silky and perfumed. It offers a slow crescendo of expressive, detailed flavors, and its juicy acidity calls you back again and again for another sip.

The 2021 Pinot Noir KR Ranch is a brilliant, poised wine, certainly more than any recent vintage I can recall. Bright acids and lifted aromatics are quite enticing. On the palate, though, the 2021 is a touch reticent. Unlike most wines here, the KR Ranch needs time.
From a single clone of Swiss clone 23, the 2021 Pinot Noir KR Ranch is lush with the perfume of candied roses, gravelly earth, and black raspberry liqueur. It offers up much more depth and ripeness but remains pure with notes of kirsch, scorched earth, and violets, a silky texture, and fine tannins. A very attractive wine from this historic site formerly labeled as Keefer Ranch, it has both immediate appeal and good potential for longevity. Drink it over the next 8-10 years.
