Coming from the Las Piedras Vineyard in Saint Helena, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Stones No. 1 is all Cabernet Sauvignon brought up in new French oak. It has a textbook bouquet from this site of ripe red and black fruits, dried flowers, loamy earth, flowery incense, and spice box, with just a hint of chocolate earth. Rich, full-bodied, and incredibly elegant, it's gorgeously balanced, with no hard edges and a great finish.

The 2017 Stones No. 1 is rich and explosive in the glass. Gravel, grilled herbs, licorice, cloves and dark fruit give the No. 1 its distinctive somber, virile personality. This powerful, earthy Cabernet Sauvignon offers a terrific representation of the Las Piedras vineyard. This dark, brooding and massively tannic wine is very good but needs time to soften.
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Stones No. 1 comes from St. Helena and Pritchard Hill and was aged 22 months in new French oak. Very deep purple black colored, it leaps from the glass with expressive blackberry pie, crème de cassis and spice cake notes with an undercurrent of camphor, asphalt, oolong tea and black olives plus a hint of wild sage. Medium-bodied, the palate is very savory/minerally with a chewy texture and lively lift to the finish. 300 cases produced.
