Tasting notes
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch Vineyard is magical stuff and checks in near the top of my scale. A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot, all from a great site in Oakville, it boasts full-bodied power and richness as well as complex notes of black and blue fruits, toasted spices, dried tobacco, and cedar pencil-like nuances. It’s a powerful wine that also has elegance as well as class. Drink this brilliant wine any time over the coming 2-3 decades.

Made up of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot aged 22 months in 100% French oak, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch Vineyard gives up warm cassis, blackberry pie and Morello cherries scents with hints of cedar chest, camphor and cardamom plus a touch of truffles. Full-bodied, firm and grainy, the palate gives up bags of freshness and lovely crunchy fruit with a savory finish. 180 cases were made.
