Score 16/20 · Drink 2019-2028, Jancis Robinson MW, Mar 2021

100% Garnacha grown  at 565 m above sea level in Badarán. Centenarian vines planted in 1917. Hand-harvested. Partially destemmed. Alcoholic fermentation in concrete vats. Aged in oak vats for 15 months. Tasted blind. Notes of prunes indicate the beginning of evolution. A rather extreme level of ripeness, as if they had demanded a lot. Fully integrated tannins. A classic profile, with greater impact from evolution and from wood. It is a wine that gets praise from international critics, but it seems to me that perhaps it has not aged as well as expected. However, keep an eye on it. (FC)
