Score 17.5/20 · Drink 2026-2036, Jancis Robinson MW, Oct 2025
From vineyards in Santa Maria Valley, Santa Barbara County, Arroyo Grande and Russian River Valley. 100% destemmed. Aged in 100% new French oak for 24 months, 80 barrels (only 4 barrels for the debut vintage in 1995). This wine is now their flagship and is a blend of their best barrels. To be released in 2026 at the earliest, 2022 is the current vintage! Transparent ruby. Both fresh and round. Long and beautifully balanced. Lifted and perfumed. Not egregiously sweet. Sappy. Opens out towards the end. I could drink this tonight! Fairly soft, though there are fine tannins underneath. (JR)
