Bricking rim but still a very healthy red core. Meaty, gravy aromas with a rocky mineral lift. No fruit as such but plenty of vigour. The palate shows a degree of austerity, quite youthful for 50+ years, but not a lot a sweetness. Marked tannin still. Impressive more than pleasurable. (AH)
