Score 89/100 · Drink 2022-2030, Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, Sep 2022

Darker and less brick-hued than the 2013 Syrah RC Reserve, Inglenook's 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is tighter on the nose and palate as well. Red berries are joined by cassis, tobacco and cedar on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate features silky tannins but also a distinct tartness, with a lingering, softly woody finish and hard acids.

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon 1882 shows why 2013 is such a phenomenal vintage. Specifically, the 1882 is both powerful yet also incredibly translucent, something that is quite rare at this level. Dark, powerful and articulate, the 2013 is a terrific introduction to one of Napa Valley's all-time great vintages.

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is exquisitely layered and nuanced, yet also captures plenty of the vintage's intensity and pure power. Inky dark fruit, licorice, dark spices, menthol and new leather are all laced together in a super attractive, mid-weight wine loaded with nuance and personality. With time in the glass, the 2013 blossoms nicely and acquires more savory, cedar, tobacco and underbrush notes.

A rich, exuberant wine, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Cask is absolutely fabulous in this vintage. Dark red and purplish fruit, iron, smoke, wild flowers and spices flesh out as the 2013 opens up in the glass. Deep and resonant, yet also structured, the 2013 is shaping up to be one of the more finessed, delicate wines of the vintage. Bright saline notes support the finish.
