Full screwcapped bottle a respectable 1,278 g. From a vineyard planted with 75% Sauvignon Blanc, 20% Sémillon and 5% Muscadelle. Barrel-fermentation and oak ageing for 11 months. Pungent, green-fruit notes and utterly unlike most Sauvignons – fuller, less obviously aromatic and just the right side of oily. Quite a triumph and arguably more distinctive than their (successful) Chardonnay 2019. A reasonably full-bodied, complex wine for food. SO unlike Marlborough Sauvignon! Long and rich but finishes bone dry with quite enough acidity. (JR)
