Tasting notes
AXR's 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Harbison Vineyard comes from a red-dirt site in eastern Oakville, adjoining the Silverado Trail. Ripe cherries, mint and lovely earth shadings appear on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is silky, expansive and generous, moving seamlessly into a long, elegant finish.

Deep purple in colour. Classic cassis-forward Cabernet Sauvignon nose with a minty softness (you do miss that lovely green freshness in Napa at times!) alongside dense sweet black fruit and fresh acidity. A touch short on the finish. (SCJ)
Cedar and blackberry with blackcurrant and violet aromas. Medium- to full-bodied with hints of hazelnut and chocolate and some olive undertones. So fresh and vivid at the end. All about balance and drinkability. Drink or hold.
This 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is also brilliant, with plenty of darker cassis and currant-driven fruit to go with a full-bodied, concentrated, powerful style on the palate. It has the vintage's fresh, focused, concentrated, slightly inwards style and will evolve for 15+ years. It's another terrific effort from this team.
