Tasting notes
The 2019 Pinot Noir Clos du Ciel is simultaneously the ripest and most structured of the Peter Michael Pinot Noirs, coming in at 15.4% alcohol, yet it also has a tart, wiry acid structure and masses of gentle tannins. Up front, it delivers pretty aromas of rose petals and tea leaves, plus ripe cherries and strawberries that linger easily on the finish.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Clos du Ciel is the most reticent of these Pinots from Peter Michael. Bright red berry fruit, chalk, mint and white pepper are all finely knit. The Clos du Ciel sizzles with tension and energy, but it also needs at least a few years in bottle to be at its best.
