Already showing delicious earthy development and hints of herby stems as well as dark chocolate. Firm but powdery tannins, lovely plum and black cherry fruit. Fine acidic structure keeps the finish fresh. Superb. (RH)

Dark-red fruits, firm and dry in texture but with a Burgundian subtlety. Texture is the best thing about this wine, dry finesse. Good length too. Savoury finish, long. (JH)
Light and a tad simple but it certainly couldn't be accused of being too sweet. A previous wine of the week . (JR)
Debut vintage from the Burgundian négociant Louis Jadot's first venture outside Greater Burgundy and Jacques Lardière's pet project. From Resonance Vineyard. The ungrafted vines were planted in 1981. Pale ruby. Pure, fairly light nose. Much drier than most Oregon Pinots with real zest and lift on the end. Domaine Drouhin's Oregon wines always seemed more burgundian than most but Résonance trumps them for French delicacy. Quite a dramatic statement! But I should imagine this would go much better with food than many of the more bumptious, sweeter offerings. (JR)
