Tasting notes
Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Black List XXIV delivers profound, wonderfully pure scents of crushed blueberries, Morello cherries, black raspberries and blackcurrant jelly with hints of violets, underbrush and iron ore. The big, rich, impactful, full-bodied palate follows through on the nose's promise with powerful black fruit flavors and loads of earthy nuances, backed up by firm, grainy tannins and lovely freshness, finishing long and layered. 120 cases were made.

Also all varietal, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Black List has lots of classic mountain fruit characteristics in its red and black currant, loamy earth, dried tobacco, and savory herb aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, deep, rich, and concentrated, it has terrific tannic grip, outstanding length, and the class to cruise for 20 years or more in cold cellars.
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Black List XXIV is a new wine made from one of the top vineyard sites on Diamond Mountain. Powerful and driving in feel, the 2018 offers superb persistence and yet also stays remarkably light on its feet for such a big wine. An enticing melange of dried flowers, mint, raspberry jam, chocolate, rose petal and iron gives the Black List tons of nuance and overall complexity. The tannins need time to soften, but this is an impressive wine in the early going.
