Tasted blind. Very sightly fishy on the nose initially but with real delicacy and not that much sweetness. Pretty and well balanced. But an aperitif Sauternes! (JR)

The 2015 Doisy-Daëne is a bit reticent on the nose, with dried honey, beeswax and white flower aromas, though it needs more vigor. The palate is well balanced with a viscous entry, dried honey and stem ginger, a keen bead of acidity and a spicy, vibrant finish. This is very fine although I have definitely encountered better bottles. Tasted blind at the 2015 Bordeaux Ten-Year-On tasting at Farr Vintners.
The 2015 Doisy-Daëne has a very refined bouquet, extremely pure with honey, white flowers, touches of quince and beeswax. This is classy, refined and sophisticated. The palate is very well defined with a fine bead of acidity, fresh and vibrant with a precise and quite persistent finish that is very classy. Superb. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting.
About the producer
This Second Growth estate has origins dating back to the late 1800s. It is, however, under the ownership of the Dubourdieu family – who took over the Barsac property in 1924 – that Ch. Doisy-Daëne truly flourished.
