2014 Château Corbin

One bottle of the 2014 Corbin was a little backward on the nose: earthy with a touch of mulch/compost infusing the black fruit, whilst a second was more exuberant with cleaner black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, quite saline and showing a little pinched and compact on the finish. Give it another year in bottle and let's see how this turns out.

The 2014 Corbin is a friendly, easygoing wine to drink now and over the next decade. Silky tannins and expressive floral notes give the wine its gracious, lifted personality. Deceptively medium in body, the 2014 possesses lovely persistence to match its understated personality. Tasted two times.

The 2014 Corbin is round, supple and very nicely balanced. Restrained and mid-weight in style, the 2014 Corbin is a wine of harmony and proportion above all else. Silky tannins confer finesse to the dark, spiced fruit. This feminine, gracious St.-Emilion will drink well early. A second sample was much more powerful and intense, with darker tonalities of fruit and more breadth. It will be interesting to see how the 2014 turns out. Tasted two times.
