Tasting notes
The 2012 Oakville Estate Red is dark, rich and sumptuous. A host of exotic cherry, plum, smoke, tobacco and licorice all meld together in an effortless, radiant wine that captures the personality of the western edge of Oakville. The Cabernet Franc is particularly expressive in 2012. Drink this sumptuous Oakville red over the next decade. In 2012 the blend is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 6% Malbec and 6% Petit Verdot.

The 2012 Oakville Estate reveals lovely notes of crème de cassis, spring flowers, forest floor, dusty, loamy soil undertones, and a touch of licorice, medium to full body, moderate tannins and beautiful concentration. This should turn out to be a brilliant effort from Leslie Rudd, but it requires 4-5 years of cellaring. It should keep for 20-25 years.
