Bright ruby-red, a bit less saturated than the 2004. Expressive maturing aromas of redcurrant, plum, blueberry, leather, smoke, mocha, cedar and tobacco leaf. Supple and sweet if not especially deep, with hints of herbs and peppery spices perking up the middle palate. This slightly lean midweight finishes with a touch of sweetness, moderate dusty tannins and a faint tart edge.

Moderately saturated ruby-red. Blackcurrant, cherry, plum, graphite, smoke and a whiff of tobacco on the nose. Rather tightly wound but juicy, with an edge of acidity giving shape to the sweet currant fruit. Lacks the flesh of the 2002 Kronos bottling. Today this is a bit hard, as the firm tannins and brisk acids have not yet come into harmony.
Good full ruby. Sweet aromas of cassis, blackberry, licorice and violet. Juicy and sweet, with excellent clarity of flavor. Bears a strong resemblance to the 2002. A firmly built wine, with excellent acidity and inner-mouth energy. Finishes with noteworthy persistence and subtlety of flavor.
