Tasting notes
Assembled from barrels that don't make it into Bond's single-vineyard offerings, the 2019 Matriarch is an excellent wine in its own right. Perhaps a bit more cedary than the other Bond wines, it deftly marries piney, herbal notes with ripe cherries on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is intense but supple, with a slightly grainy texture on the lingering finish.

I loved the 2019 Matriarch, and this full-bodied, round, seamless beauty hits all the right spots. Cassis, graphite, toasted spice, and beautifully integrated oak all define the aromatics, and it has wonderful tannins, a pure, silky, elegant mouthfeel, and a great finish. It’s going to evolve for 15+ years.
The 2019 Matriarch is gorgeous. Dark red cherry, plum, mocha, licorice and leather infuse the 2019 with striking depth. Medium in body and resonant, the 2019 is so wonderfully expressive today. All the elements meld together nicely here. Best of all, the 2019 will drink well upon release.
