Tasting notes
Buttery brioche, honeyed citrus, caramelized pear and lemon, and a distinct earthy aroma jump from the glass of this light medium gold-colored wine. More buttery than most Marcassin Chardonnays, with good acidity, this deep, rich, full-bodied beauty is somewhat outclassed by some of the compelling efforts that have been produced at this magical vineyard. Sweet aromas of ripe cherries, black currants, plums, smoky barbecue, licorice and forest floor jump from the glass of this broad, savory, full-bodied, young, vibrant Pinot Noir. At age eight, it is just beginning to develop secondary nuances. It should continue to evolve for another decade, offering sumptuous drinking for at least 10-15 more years. This is another great success in a fabulous line-up. Wine Advocate.June, 2014
