Evolved, with a somewhat dull, gold color, hints of marzipan, stale nuts and advanced, was the 2003 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch. This was clearly an example of a wine that certainly has not held up well in the bottle.

Good straw-gold color. Superripe aromas of stone fruits, minerals, honey and butterscotch, with nutty and tropical notes; more effusively aromatic than the Napa bottling. Then sweet and supple on the palate, with cooler flavors of yellow fruits, lime, flowers, hay and minerals. Finishes firmly dry and persistent.
