Lots of acidity but lively and lots of life and fresh with a firm spine. Very correct and old school. Some raspberry fruit. Then decided tautness. (JR)

I loved the nose of the 2017 Chassagne Montrachet, and it has a classic, elegant reductive minerality that people in California would kill for. Crushed citrus, white flowers, crushed stone, and spicy notes all emerge from this medium-bodied, tight, vibrant effort that has a thrilling sense of minerality, terrific balance, and a great finish.
Bottled. Light struck-match note on the nose and palate. Otherwise quite gentle and rounded on the palate. Could do with a little more fruit intensity to fill the core. (JH)
The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet Village Blanc exhibits an attractive bouquet of green orchard fruit, toasted nuts and white flowers, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and succulent palate with bright acids and a generous core of fruit. It's a lovely Chassagne that will drink well for a decade or more.
