The 2023 Chardonnay UV-SL Vineyard marries opulence and freshness. Apricot, orange confit, hazelnut, ginger, burnt sugar, lychee and tangerine oil open first, framed by a light veil of reduction that adds character. This is classic UV-SL all the way. Time in the glass brings out layers of floral-infused honey. I would prefer to drink this over the next handful of years.
The 2023 Chardonnay UV-SL Vineyard is delicate and sensual in the glass. White flowers, tangerine oil, mint, lemon confit and light tropical accents take shape. Rich yet light on its feet, the 2023 UV-SL is sublime. Lifted floral overtones grace the sensual finish. This is all refinement.
About the producer
The Aubert wines, particularly the Chardonnay, have a cult following – beloved for their rich, hedonistic style. Created by Mark and Theresa Aubert in 1999, the property makes some of California’s most sought-after Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, all from single vineyards across Sonoma.
