Tasting notes
Made with the addition of 15% Mourvèdre and 10% Syrah, the 2018 The Third Man Grenache has a classic ruby core and picturesque red fruit essences that waft from the glass with elements of dusty wild cherry, currant and potpourri with subtle orange spices. Balanced, focused and subtly spiced, the wine is fresh on the palate and delivers pleasure over the long-lingering finish that begs me back for more. It's a gorgeous wine without being heavy or overdone. Give it a try.

Bright red with a palish rim. Rather subdued raspberry and strawberry on the nose, enlivened by hints of rose petal and cinnamon spice. Smooth, pliant wine with restrained sweetness to its red berry and spice flavors. Nicely intense Grenache and very well made but youthfully laid-back and lacking give; I'd hold this until next summer. Today I feel the tree bark and olive tapenade Mourvèdre and Syrah elements but I don't find the Grenache fruit sweetness. Was this fruit harvested short of ideal ripeness?
