The 2012 Pinot Noir Hacienda Secoya Vineyard, from a site in Anderson Valley, is one of the more savory wines in the range. Rose petals, mint, pine and herbs wrap around a core of perfumed dark fruit in a tense, beautifully chiseled Pinot endowed with tons of personality. Each taste reveals different shades of nuance in a transparent, prism-like Pinot that is utterly captivating. The 40% whole clusters add lift through the mid-palate as the wine finishes with notable energy and power. This is a superb, pedigreed Pinot Noir from Ceritas that will delight those lucky enough to own it.

Brilliant ruby-red. High-pitched aromas of redcurrant, strawberry and blood orange, with an intense mineral overtone. Tangy and precise on the palate, offering gently sweet red fruit and rose pastille flavors that show a refreshingly bitter edge. The floral quality gains power on the finish, which lingers with excellent focus and building power. Light on its feet but packs a serious punch, with the balance to age. All of this fruit was destemmed.
Pine, menthol and resin notes jump from the glass in the 2012 Pinot Noir Hacienda Sequioa. Iron, dark red fruit and a host of mineral notes add complexity. There is a directness and focus to the 2012 that is striking. The combination of expressive aromatics and intense fruit, both backed up by considerable structure, is hugely appealing. Sweet floral notes reappear on the finish, adding further nuance. The Hacienda Sequioa, emerges from a site in Anderson Valley planted in 1995, and was done with fully destemmed fruit.
