Tasting notes
Certified Ecocert organic. 68% Syrah, 28% Grenache, 4% Cinsault. Hand-picked, destemmed, traditional fermentation, two weeks' post-fermentation maceration. 21 months in French oak: one-third of the Syrah in new burgundian oak barrels for nine months and Grenache and Cinsault in 500-litre demi-muids and 2,000-litre foudres for nine months. Best-barrel blend followed by a 12-month maturation in barrel. TA 4.51 g/l, pH 3.7, RS 0.53 g/l. Jammy blackberries ram-packed on the nose and palate and with all that yummy palms-up, happy conviviality of fruit you'd think this wine was simple but that would be a big mistake. This might be fruit forward, but it is a seriously interesting, dense, exciting, long power-ram of a wine. (TC)
