The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Bosche Vineyard has a very deep garnet color, delivering a gorgeous nose of lilacs, dark chocolate, blackcurrant pastilles and blueberry compote with nuances of cloves, cigar box, menthol and black olives. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is still very youthful, sporting loads of black fruit preserves and mineral sparks, framed by plush tannins and finishing long with a minty lift. 560 cases were made.

The estate's 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Bosché is a little less outwardly exuberant than the Sycamore but makes up for that with its notable drive and pure energy. Black currants, crushed rocks, violets and melted road tar flow across the palate in this beautifully delineated vibrant wine. The floral-infused finish opens up beautifully with time in the glass. All the elements are in the right place. The 2009 Bosché is 92% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Merlot.
(with 8% merlot): Bright ruby-red. Very floral aromas of black raspberry, cherry and minerals. Round and seamless, with good inner-mouth definition and lift to the flavors of plum, dark cherry, cigar box and green olive. This solidly structured wine finishes with substantial broad, dusty tannins. Winemaker Ted Edwards noted that he may "fine-tune" the tannins prior to the bottling. All of these 2009s represent a step up in quality from this winery's 2008s.
