Tasting notes
Vines in Gevrey, at a lower site in the appellation, and they choose to declassify it to Bourgogne. Vines 25-75 years old and certified organic . Bottled December 2024. Mid crimson. Fresh dark-red fruit and lightly peppery – more a cross between peppery and stony and a little stemmy. Then a rush of lovely, deep, sweet-fresh red fruit on the palate. I did not expect quite so much fruit intensity. Terrific bite of freshness on the finish and very smooth, supple but sufficient tannins. Bright, mouth-watering, pure and surprisingly rich. Generous. Relatively GV . You could almost drink this now but it will surely become more complex. (JH)
