Serralunga d’Alba. Tasted blind. Mid ruby with orange tinges. Generous nose with minerally hints underneath the ripe fruit. Ripe, supple raspberry and cherry palate that is still very youthful and intense. Tannic but a little muted on the finish and needs a little more time. (WS)

Serralunga d’Alba. 45 days on the skins and aged for two years in 700-litre tonneaux of which 10% were new. Youthful mid ruby. Reluctant nose but with plenty of minerally savoury notes and hints of porridge. Generous, ripe raspberry fruit and clay-like, clinging tannins on the palate. Transparent, fresh and elegant. Impossible to resist but deserves more bottle age. (WS)
