Tasting notes
Barolo. Mid ruby. Deep and perfumed red-fruit nose with dark-spice notes and minerally hints. A core of sweet cherry and raspberry fruit with lots of juicy acidity and finely ground, chewy tannins. Cru pedigree. (WS)

The 2018 Barolo Terlo Vigna Costa Grimaldi shows the wilder side of Nebbiolo in its virile, potent personality. The flavors are dark and mysterious. Dark cherry, dried flowers, lavender, asphalt, spice and scorched earth develop, adding to the wine's decidedly somber personality. The Terlo is an intriguing wine that has a ton to offer.
Rich and layered on the nose. Juicy but with a hint of oak. Not quite as much finesse as I’d like. A bit brutal in its assault on the palate. Very drying finish. (JR)
