Score 17/20 · Drink 1998-2020, Walter Speller, jancisrobinson.com, Jul 2012
Concentrated ruby with orange tinged rim. Beginning of forest floor. Real depth. Tobacco and red and dark fruit. Concentrated but elegant. Energetic acidity on the attack. Long and fragrant with a layer of quite powerful tannin. Could still do with more time. (WS)

About the producer

Querciabella
Literally translating as “beautiful oak”, Querciabella was created in 1974 by Giuseppe Castiglioni. A pioneer in Chianti, he started farming biodynamically and experimenting with both varieties and winemaking – one result of which was Camartina, the property’s flagship Super Tuscan.
