Score 17/20 · Drink 2025-2035, Richard Hemming MW, jancisrobinson.com, Feb 2023
All fruit at first, but the palate unveils the depth of flavour and persistence you'd hope for. Tannins that will age gracefully, giving chew now but not inaccessibility. You'd be forgiven for missing the greatness at this stage – the complexity is yet to emerge – but it has all the signs of greatness to come. (RH)

About the producer

Bass Phillip
Bass Phillip has been quietly making world-class Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in Leongatha, South Gippsland, since the 1990s. The estate’s wines were long sold almost exclusively in Australia, meaning that the producer remains relatively little-known beyond its native shores.
