Tasting notes
The Hospices de Beaune has a 0.79-hectare parcel of this Premier Cru, a slightly cooler site facing east. This Ramonet bottling exudes stereoptypical Meursault opulence – a rich, nutty nose with ripe lemon peel, sweet peach fruit and honeysuckle. It’s round and full, with a pleasing fatness to the palate; the concentrated fruit rolling around the mouth. That richness, however, is held in check by a line of minerality that only emerges more with air, a backbone of bright acidity and mouthwatering saline finish. The oak is present, adding smoky, toasty complexity, and will integrate with time in bottle. Decant in advance to open now; this will be even better from 2027. 531 Bottles, 30 Magnums and 6 Jeroboams produced.
