Score 95/100 · Drink 2022-2040, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Jun 2022

Pure, fresh and reductive on the nose, with red berry and fresh lemon aromas intertwined with flinty and spicy notes, the 2019 Pinot Noir is a full-boded, pure, refined and intense, generously juicy and sustainable Pinot with very fine tannins and very delicate mineral acidity. The finish is very intense, sweet and sustainably salty. This vintage pairs the generosity of 2018 or 2012 with the tensioned, crystalline purity and finesse of 2016 and 2014. Impressive, especially in this context (2012–2020). Tasted at the domaine in March 2022.

Hang on to your hat and open your mind for this extraordinary pinot noir that redefines what Swiss wine can be. Deep and extremely subtle nose of red berries and cherries with delicate spice and some flint. Breathtakingly focused, racy and filigree palate that’s only just opening up. Extremely long finish that’s very mineral, in a cooler way than the great red Burgundies that inspired this masterpiece. Drinkable now, but best from 2024.
